After growing up and going to primary and secondary school in Barbados, Dr. Gibbs decided to further his education in the United States. He attended Virginia Union University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and graduated with honors. After graduation, he began medical school. Briefly starting at Howard University then transferring to the University of the West Indies, he received three years of pre-clinical and two years of clinical training. Additionally, Dr. Gibbs has two years of clinical rotations in surgery, pediatrics, OB-GYN, orthopedics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. He is also board eligible in both pediatrics, allergy and immunology, and received a fellowship at the New York–Presbyterian Hospital in allergy and immunology.
