Stephanie Porter was born in Fort Huachuca, AZ as the daughter of an US Army family. Dr. Porter during her childhood resided in various countries including Germany, Japan, and Korea. She attended College at Texas A&M University at the main campus in College Station, Texas and graduated in 1995 as a pre-med major, with Honors. She was awarded an Air Force Medical Scholarship for attendance at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas and completed the program in 1999. Her pediatric residency, at Scott and White (Baylor Medical Center) in Temple, Texas, was completed in 2002. She served four years as an Air Force Medical Officer at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas, achieving the position as Medical Director of the Pediatric Clinic. After completion of Active Duty, she served at the Dallas Children’s Medical Center’s Emergency Room Pediatric Acute Care Unit. After a year, she transitioned to Instructor and Hospitalist of the University of Texas Southwest Medical School. There she trained both residents and medical students. She then established a Pediatric Clinic in Dallas, Texas. Over the next seven years, her husband, a physical therapist, was accepted into medical school at Saint George University in Grenada, West Indies. Though a year of transition, moving to Wilmington Delaware with her husband, she started work at Christiana Hospital as a Hospitalist. Her husband then matched into the Family Practice Residency program at Conemaugh Hospital, bringing her to Johnstown, PA.
Stephanie is a mother of three boys; Rayden, Asher, and Kade. They enjoy hiking, skiing, and sledding as a family. The family enjoys exploring orchards and baking great recipes with the local and absolutely magnificent fruit. She also enjoys mission trips having been to South Africa, Honduras and southern Mexico. She hopes to do more trips sometime in the future. Her passion is working with her children and wanting them to reach their maximum potential. This same dedication and caring attitude flows into her pediatric care and also training other medical students and residents to have the same values.view all
